| Description | The back of the stiffener is plain. Propeller-shaped with chamfered outside edge. The triangular arms both have two rivet holes. There is also a rivet hole in the circular section. The front is decorated with a pattern following the shape of the mount and made with a triangular shaped punch. It would have been riveted vertically to a wide belt to stop it curling over at the edges, though these have also been used to decorate wooden caskets. |
