| Description | This cast item has been identified as a balteus connecter, but it's heavy build suggests it has an equine use. The three loops would each hold a leather strap. This example is smaller than previous ones and doesn't have the two raised nubs. The reverse is flat. The possibility exists that this may be from a much later date, though all three examples have been found on purely roman sites. | |
